                                 NICOYA PENINSULA

TAMBOR                                                                                                                          honeymooners about to kiss The laidback town of Tambor is located on the south end    of the Nicoya Peninsula, in the Puntarenas Province.      Tambor has a lovely, long, white, sandy beach. It is ideal     for swimming, kayaking and diving. Situated amidst the    lush green hills, this town is quite well developed and has    its own airport, which is the only local airport in the      southern region of the Nicoya Peninsula.

MONTEZUMA                                                                                                                                                 Montezuma is located near the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, 41km southwest     of Paquera and 8km south of the town of Cóbano. Most services are in Cóbano. The tiny beach haven features a mainly foreign community with a lot of European influences. It’s  a long-time favorite of backpackers and eco-tourists who come for the beaches, rivers and scenic waterfalls that surround the village. Nearby is the nature reserve of Cabo Blanco. The town center of Montezuma consists almost entirely of accommodations, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Catering to the young and the surf-oriented crowd that makes up the bulk of its visitors.  Montezuma offers a choice of good, inexpensive rooms.

MALPAIS                                                                                                                           1.sunset landscapeMalpais also lies at the southeastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, in the Puntarenas Province. Extending some 6 kilometers east to west, Malpais is a great place to kickback, relax and surf some great waves.  Be sure to check out some of the fabulous vacation packages that we have assembled to visit the region.
