Tamarindo airport for flights around the country is just 10 minutes by taxi.

The Pacific coast airport at Liberia (LEE BER I AH with stress on the BER) is served by a large number of international airlines among them: American, Delta, U.S. Airways, Air Canada, Continental and United. Liberia (LIR) is a 45 minute van ride from Tamarindo. There are also plenty of taxis and vans.
