TORTUGUERO

                                                                                                                                                                                       When people typically think of rainforest in Costa Rica--one of the first places that automatically comes to their minds is usually Tortuguero National Park. Tortuguero National Park offers a large variety of hotels and lodges to choose from. CC Vacation Services has partnered with three local resorts--all located within Tortuguero National Park. Together we have created a variety of all-inclusive packages to visit Tortuguero--these include all transportation, all local accommodations, all meals and complete access to the regions best local tours and activities.  Though relatively small, the area  offers a variety of activities for the tourist. An absolutely awesome experience is to visit the Green Turtle nesting beaches at night-- to watch turtles laying eggs and/or eggs hatching.

Tortuguero is one of Costa Rica's popular eco-tourism destinations. The canals, rivers, beaches and lagoons of Tortuguero National Park are ideal to study the rainforest, freshwater and marine biology. The park and small town of Tortuguero are accessible by boat or small aircraft only.

The Tortuguero National Park is one of the most varied parks-- boasting lush rainforests to marshy lands, long stretches of beach, wide open canals perfect for crocodile spotting. This region is also one of the most important breeding grounds for the Green Sea Turtle. The wildlife here is very rich and diverse-- with unusually large populations of monkeys, birds and fish.

Rent a canoe or kayak and go exploring on the canal where you’ll be able to spot creatures such as caimans, birds, and crocodiles. This park offers various hiking trails, great for wildlife viewing. Also popular in this region is world class sport fishing, for giant Tarpon.

There are no roads leading to the town of Tortuguero, it's most commonly accessed by boat from the town of Moin-- found near the port town of Limon. From here you’ll take a boat trip on the canal to Tortuguero, and its National Park. Another option is to take a short plane ride from San Jose. The village itself is small, with a collection of houses, a hand full of hotels & gift shops--and lots of wildlife attractions.
